    Default Fire Sevice ???

A recent find North of Hanover, I think its right as I didn't pay much and it was with a right as rain Luftschutz scuttle helmet.
I believe it is Fire service in the transition to Third Reich, probably 1935/6? I'm sure someone out there will have the exact spec.
Looks like it had a comb at some point and it has been removed and the holes filled.
It is marked with a sitting lion over DRP and the word Thale with a large N to the right.
I will try fighting with the photos again and see if I can get them on site.

Hi Jock, you are correct. These decals were introduced on July 10th 1934.

It is a good original helmet.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Shame about the condition though.
I would have liked less rust but you can't win em all.

I don't see any problem with the rust, it's surface rust and does not make that piece the crap. It's rare to find the helmet with early police decals. As I'am myself, I do not prefer excellent examples ( I feel that some collectors who collect mint items, would make a German warehouse reconstruction )

    Dimas,

I see a problem only in that I would want to prevent any further deteroration. I was thinking a bit of rifle oil? Or might that damage the decals?
