Article about: Some of you might know of the sunken German U boat on display in Liverpool, England. I was at it a number of years ago and there were found on it when it was retrieved from the water a load

    Some of you might know of the sunken German U boat on display in Liverpool, England.

    I was at it a number of years ago and there were found on it when it was retrieved from the water a load of M35 German helemts amongst other items. It's odd that they seemd to be covered in a chalky substance? Have you seen this display and the German helmets?

    Yes i do remember the photo of Helmets behind the ladder
    They did have some kind of chalky residue over them possibly from the sinking or other kind of marine life.Hard to believe they sat like that all those years without being disturbed.They also recovered the original Battle Ensign complete with dress dagger, buckle and awards! Will post photos when i can remember the disc they are on

    These helmets would have been intended for use by the crew of the deck gun etc.

    I believe the uboat is moved to a new location in liverpool?The m42 held by the guy appears to be the largest size 70.If ever you get a chance to see it ,i would highly recomend it.
