These weren't wedding presents guys. They were used to substitute for the soldier being present at his own wedding. The bride would place her hand on the miniature helmet and take the marriage vows in his absence. As so many young men were at the front fighting and couldn't get leave this was a way the government recognized the vows as official.

I don't have pics of the helmet but I'll try to take one as time permits.

I believe RoyA on GHW2 posted a period pic of a wedding in one thread of his. He has many of these wedding helmets.
