Going to pick this up tomorrow

I'm very excited because this going to be my first local find. The guy is offering me a Heer single decal M40 (i think). We agreed upon the price of 400$ which looks to be a decent price for the condition and the fact it still has a chinstrap. Let me know what you guys think.

Unfortunately i dont have any militaria books, but this helmet looks quite honest. Ill bring a few pictures of some heer decals as reference.

Can't tell you much either way without more pics....looks honest enough, price is good.... But we'd need more pics of decal, liner and chinstrap, plus the lid close up

Looks honest enough, but did you agree on $400 without seeing the rest of the helmet? What's the inside look like? Too many unanswered questions so far, unless you have seen more than is shown in one pic. Definitely worth going to have a look at.

I would rather spend these 400 on some quality second hand books. It will totally change the way you think and act when you the collect bits and pieces of our history.

The helmet will wait, and if not then you will find plenty of other examples later on. And when the day comes, you are armed with knowledge!
