Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

PM me Paul you know it makes sense
Hello chaps, been a while. The Kid, if I were you I would save those pennies and get a lid in non relic condition. As John has said, they don't come cheap, but they look a hell of a lot tidier on a shelf. I had a few relics in the past and I found that I lost interest in handling them and looking at them. I now have a few nice, salty but complete lids and I get a whole lot more pleasure handling and studying them. They may sit on a shelf but I never get tired of them! If you are lucky you can find reasonably priced ND lids, I picked up an ND Luft M40 for £300 ($480) in August. Good luck. By the way John, you have a few nice Frozen meat medals on your site these days.... I will be in touch
Hello Jimbo
I've got 3 or 4 non ring marked ones too, not up on site yet
You wait til you see this lid mate, you'll want it.............guaranteed
ok thanx for the help you guys, any sites for recomnedation??
I don't know its just my opinion that I think relic lids are really 99% a waste of money.
Depends on what exactly the relics are but an opinion that many won't agree with but life is all about opinions !!

All, in my previous post I provided a link to Military War Relics, Antiques and Collectibles, RJW Militaria where descent lids can be obtained for under $1000. Some are being offered for half that price. I've asked about the site before on the forum and it was given a thumbs up by Ade and other members. Of course, nothing is absolute but your chances are pretty good the the items offered here are authentic.
With that said, a half descent lid with decals is surely obtainable. These may not be mint, but they're 100% better than relics.
