Heer M 42 Camo Chicken Wire Helmet

Hello ,new here thought I would share one of of my helmets today.Chunky Heer camo Half Basket M42. This was picked up by Lt. Col Gordon Singles in the Vosges in 44. He commanded in Italy ,France and Germany in the 100th Infantry Division. He is mentioned in the book War In The Ruins . It has been interesting reading previous posts on wired helmets where the comments have ranged from "all European wire has LH twists, only western wire has RH twists" to "the twist starts left then reverses" to this agreed gennie one that has a row of RH, then a row of LH, then back again.

Just goes to show the chickens never cared which way it went, only us loony collectors!!
