Looks like a single decal heer M40.

Looks like a Q M40 to me, not sure about the originality of whats left of the decal however

The hole on the top might mean it was used as a grave marker. It looks like a SD M40 Q shell. If the decal is real, it looks like it was a Heer.

Thank you. The decal or what's left of it is metalic looking almost like it has metal shavings. Should the originals be like that? Looks like someone tried to de-nazify it.

Original heer decals contain metallic elements yes. I agree it looks like it was a single decal heer M40. The stamp will be Q66 probably.

As the guys are saying, a Quist M40.
Most likely remnants of a Heer decal, and as Jim points out, a possible grave marker.

Thanks again for all your feedback. Grave marker? Kinda creepy. This is a good score for me. A buddy of mine is more into collecting Veitnam era so he traded me this for an Imperial M7 bayonet I had kicking around(he tried to get my M6 chrome but I'm keeping that).

Eh, depending on condition of the bayonet I would have kept that. That's just how I feel.
