According to several sources he's still alive.

Now this is truly amazing. The odds of this are pretty incredible. It may be the same helmet as the one shown in the picture judging by the multiple layers of paint. Really looking forward to see how this one turns out.
This is a bit of a zombie thread I know, ( and apologies for raising it from its 6 year sleep ) but did ANYTHING come of it?
Sadly I know many of the contributors are gone - and some are even on our Honor Roll - but it would be nice to draw a final line under it.......
