superb example gary, martin can i ask about this textured late war finish ,was it applied in the field or during manufacture id like to know more about it please

To be honest, I am not sure but think it was factory applied, its not unusual to see M42's like this, I have had a couple myself
Looks like a late war pig skin liner also

Hi guys thanks for looking. Chris if you look at the 6th photo down thats a photo of the shell . would you like a closer photo then that. I've posted this and the other items I got from the guy in the attic finds section. Gary
