    I found this M40 in the trash today. It has a lot stamping I'm not familiar with. It has no maker mark or size stamping. Can anyone offer their expertise?

    Is it authentic?

    Also, I have to buy an engagement ring ... some of my collection has to go. How much is this thing worth?

    What is the serial number looks strange (STR 96) is that right or is it me.

    I really think it says S1890... let me see if I can try to get some better pictures.

    I think this lid may be a reissued luftwaffe? I see what I think are little peeks of blue here and there...

    Looks like a Quist M40 ND' rear marked shell. Pity the rest of it is missing.
