At first I hope, you had nice christmas days.
The helmet below was bought from an antiques dealer in Dachau.
I took several pics and I hope, you would give me your opinions.
Ther is no smell of leather left, no maker marks, just "Barth & Wagawa,..., Dresden"
stamped in the liner. This helmet is similar to the one in Kelly Hicks famous book ,
that the guard is wearing. I found the same producer at the inside of an RZM-helmet.
Are there many producers known in this period?
    Thank you

    Greetings from germany

My only observation is that the liner looks extremely minty. Can't comment on anything else.

I agree the liner doesnt seem to match the look of the helmet. I would hesitate to say the same about the chinstrap as well just from these pics.

It is a "Himmler" style helmet and I think the liner is period. I like the piece. Jim G.

In my opinion, a very nice helmet with a VERY nice, original liner.

Agree with Jim, a good Himmler and appears in top condition too. Nice commercially produced intrawar helmet.

Glad to say this one struck me as good from the beginning too. Very minty!

Thank you all. I am glad to hear that.
The only thing, that is a little bad, is the blackened name on the liner.
But here in germany anything related to this topic is nearly banned, so I can understand this.

I got news. I asked the seller, Cornelius Wittmann Antiquitäten,to whom the helmet belonged.
Today I got the answer. It is from a family from Dachau. He did not tell me the name, but I think it
could be possible "SS-Sturm Dachau"-member. I just could not read it, it is blackened .
