Default HJ Helmet M16 Shell with Painted Insignia

After seeing the period photos of a similar HJ helmet posted by John in an earlier thread which demonstrated that this type of insignia was applied, and the help of Anders, who knew of this piece, I was able to add this to the collection this week. I love it and hope that you do as well. Thanks to John for the pictures and to Anders for your help. Cheers, Jim G.

Thanks guys. The more I look at it, the more I like it. At first when pictures of the helmet were available I hadn't noticed the swastika on the Eagle's chest, or the sword in the right talon because of the other chips to the paint. In hand, however, you see them well, and when you double click to enlarge the pictures, both are quite apparent. They certainly were well rendered by the Jugend who painted the insignia when compared to the cover of the booklet that came with the piece. This one is staying put on the shelf for a long while. Thanks again, Jim G.

Hi Jim, I like the look of this one too.

The light blue background to the insignia is interesting and given that one is also found on the other side, I wonder what that once represented?

    Cheers, Ade.
