Looks like an original early decal fire police, in fairly decent condition as well.

    regards, Corey

Well its a civic droop bill i think which would be a fire/ police helmet with the comb but it looks like one wasnt fitted, the decals are purporting to be Hermann Goring Police as far as I can make out, there were a number of variations with civics, it also looks to be a light weight aluminium shell, the only problem is when the decals were added, wartime or post war

I use to have an Early M34 fire/police similar to this one. The floating swastika had the same patina as this one, as did the white bar in the angled tri color. Decals are prewar/wartime, no doubt about it. Not sure why the comb slots are covered, a big mystery, they were covered on mine as well. I've always thought the slits were covered after the comb was removed in order for the helmet to be used by the police, or perhaps as a last ditch combat helmet.

It is 100% correct - the decals are definitely Third Reich period applied. It had a comb, which was removed and the holes plugged. You can see that especially in the picture of the back of the helmet, where the outline of the comb is quite apparent. This was commonly done. I also really like the inserted salt shaker vents, often found in early fire/police helmets. It is a really nice example of this style helmet. Jim G.
