Re: HUGE FAKE SELLER! You need to see this!
I saw this too today, I was looking at the "wire" helmet and i dont know, to me it looks fake..

Re: HUGE FAKE SELLER! You need to see this!
All the helmets he is selling are covered in some kind of 'slop' inside and out to
make them look 'battle-worn' but also to hide any newness. The chinstraps
are dirty and worn looking, but on closer inspection all the leather has
crisp cut marks on them. The leather liners are 'sanded' rough,
to appear aged and worn also.
Rare SS saddle...........?
Looks to me to be standard 'english style'. There are no photos
of any markings or hardware showing this to be military at all ! !
He advertises his items with period photos of similar type objects
to get buyers lulled and 'in the mood'.
Don't be fooled by this cretin !
Regards, Steve.

and yet all + feedback. Some pretty high prices if repro.
The description is very dodgy to me. On one hand says original, but then state things like:
"An item put up for auction is of a collector's character.
You are bidding on an item in a position such as in the picture.
The item is sold in the exact condition as presented on the photograph.
The manufacture date of the Helmet is unknown to me.
"
The guarantee applies if not as described. Catch 22 as he describes no manufacture date, and you could argue, whatever it is, its original.

Re: HUGE FAKE SELLER! You need to see this!
To me the alarm bells are ringing out very loud, to many good conditions "Very rare ! " items, plus the weathering techniques look very akin to those used for scale models of WWII armoured fighting vehicle, and the rust/earth colours look to me as if the have been done using a airbrush and a powered masking agent, thus giving the speckled finish, as to the leather work, acid, sand paper, and paint stripper would get you this type of result, the hide is not cracked and stiffened yet has lost its surface finish as it would do as if it was drying out and starting to decompose, also the dead give away, the flesh side (suede side) has no wear to the surface, as is still quite ruff, this would have polished quite smooth with use, especially when in contact with the oils from the wearers face.
Nige.
"Now, I've designed this like a collapsing bag ! "

Re: HUGE FAKE SELLER! You need to see this!
Some of them are already around 500$, whoever's bidding is in for a nasty suprise.

Re: HUGE FAKE SELLER! You need to see this!
It's a damned shame e-vil-bay changed things so you can't contact bidders- I used to warn people about fake Erkennungsmarken all the time...
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...

Bummer that people don't follow up or do research before or after the purchase. However we all get suckered sometimes!!

Hope they read this first though.
