Identifying German Helmet

Article about: Hello, Newbie here and would like help identifying and authenticating this German helmet. It is marked on the inside ET62 and on the inside back 688 or 889. Appears to have been painted dont

    Its a ww2 helmet, used by the Norwegians post war, theres no way of telling when the chin strap was installed, either original to the helmet or added later

    I used to have one of these Norwegian helmets 30 years ago, which I (stupidly)
    converted into a black SS double decal type. The chinstrap had a 'natural'
    tan colour, which was a Norwegian replacement.

    Hopefully you did not pay a whole lot for it.

    Sometimes militaria pieces can be misrepresented
    and be sold for more than their worth.........
