Goody another SE/hkp lover. I have a couple of them now and really love them. Shouldn't have sold my SE M35 DD lufty though...
Jason
This is the only SE I have, and have ever had. Handled a good few though, they have a nice subtle shape difference

Sweet looking lid Jase any thoughts on the colour scheme? and can't say that ive ever seen a spliced liner before ? is that where the rolls ofleather are joined in manufacture or has it been adapted to suit the Shell?
Phill
I remember that one Andy, she is a nice one. I have this one and the lufty M40 in my avatar. I will have to post some of my older lids actually, might have left out one or two
Its a manufacturing thing Phill - "Vaste not, Vont not" said uncle Adolf ( in one of his non-manic moments )
Thanks Phill, well I was always thinking Mediterranean theatre but could be anywhere really. The spliced liner was a factory join in manufacture due to shortage in supplies. I had read that the German only ever spliced during the war with matching leather colours but I have also see pics of period helmets with splices in non matching leather so not sure on that. Still it was nicely done.

It looks to have been painted inside and outside with this mustard green color ? For info , some decades ago a batch of post war mustard green reissue helmets was avaliable along with the known all tan batch (from eastern countries), some of these mustard green helmets still with decals under .
very nice example
