    Hey Gents,

I have had my doubts about this chinstrap since the moment getting it. I pulled it out for a closer look today and was surprised to find remnants of grey paint on the lesser worn areas of the buckle. I now am leaning more towards authentic. I don't have any reference to the maker in Ken N.'s book.

    So, any thoughts or opinions?

    Thanks!

    Tyler

Hate to say it, but it doesn't look old. The experts will be along shortly

Stamp and buckle are incorrect - looks like
    a 'European' repro.........

Yes, buckle is flat, wide, looks incorrect. Checked my list, jhz does not exist as a maker.

These are pics of a known good chinstrap (deemed genuine here on the site) that I posted here a few months ago, seller's pics but they work. The buckle has a very distinct look to it.

Hi, a repro buckle for sure, that said, as a "filler" to a helmet, I have seen a lot worse! Leon.

Indeed - with the cost of originals exceeding $150,
    this is what I'd use.........!
