I would say No
The one picture that is shown of the rivet, and it doesn't show the same kind of wear as the lid, more over, the inside of the helmet looks to be ground dug, or stored badly, in which case the original would have rotted away. More detailed pictures of the rivets, and the inside would help to say for definite
You bought it? How much was it?
Regarding liners being original to helemts. Here are a few pointers as to what you need to look for, besides the obvious of the liner itself being original:
Outside: does the paint of the rivets match the helmet? This can only help in some instances, as rivets came pre painted and will not always match exactly in colour. But on a reissue or camo this can come into play. Are they made of the correct material? One would not expect to find early brass rivets on an M42 for instance.
Inside: Is the liner band the correct type and style for the helmet? Early alluminium, reinforced, zink etc.....
Does it fit tighly into the helmet shell? Does it show any malformation where it has been bent and pulled to one side in order to take the rivets out?
If you can see, are the arms of the rivets cleanly bent once? If they exhibit several creases to the metal, they will have been taken out and re-bent.
Are the retaining washers in place?
Condition: does this match that of the rest of the helmet?
If unplayed with and not cleaned, there ought to be a dust build up between liner band and the helmet shell.
Hope this helps?
Cheers, Ade.
