the markings inside are bogus(fake) another poor attempt to make a buck, pay attention to what you are going to buy, check the liner, the helmet pins, the chin strap, the size #,the batch # and paint,There are no factory scratched in numbers or SS markings,Ever on a Helmet,FACTORY'S NEVER SCRATCH THEY STAMP. the production supervisor would halt production if the numerical numbering stamping device malfunctioned, a simple test hold a real German Helmet Notice the Weight? now hold a fake lighter in weight isn't it, Verify the Vent Holes on each side of the helmet,The German high command in 1940 issued a directive to Helmet makers to speed production and eliminated the pressed in grommets for vent holes, and stated that they would be Stamped for M40/M42 series helmets. Read be informed, do your research,on the styles of helmets you want to purchase. and as for decals, unless it is on THE original paper with the name of maker,ED STRACHE,POCHER,ETC. it aint Real! I have been collecting over 30 some years and encounter fakes alot. if it looks brand new and unblemished,it's a rebuilt helmet, Or a Copy, and don't buy because they told you a good story about the helmet, ask to see proof of documented, photo's,military reciepts, etc.remember it's your money, spend it wisely.
