    I've never personally met Mr. Baer, but he has had a profound influence on me and I'm sure on all other collectors in this hobby.

    He was a pioneer and his book was my "bible" for many years.

    This is horrible news he was a great collector and his works on German helmets helped many to learn more about this hobby. R.I.P

    My condolences as well. Mr Baer inspired many of us to learn and study. He was truly a pioneer and a leader. He will be missed.
