The helmet is original with a nice lacquered decal. Looks like the shell has been sanded or cleaned, but it may just be the quality of the picture.

Decal looks good. there is a light colorec area around the decal, maybe from the laquer. Could this be a period repainted shell with a decal applied after the repaint? Paint looks brownish. I'm interested to hear what others have to say on this one. Liner looks good. Cant tell on the drawstring.

Could be you know. Decal is great and it's a nice Quist M40. I used to have an ET Polizei lid that had gone brown just like his one.
