Someone offered me this M42 helmet. What do you think about it and what's it worth? The chin strap is broken.

Helmet appears original also appears to have been cleaned, polished or laquer applied to it at one time but it's 70 years old can't read the maker ET? maybe appears to have some pits probably from rust that have been removed decal has lost its highlights I can't tell you much more about it other than original M-42. timothy

It's been messed with. Almost looks like a ground dug that's been cleaned and coated. Line looks replaced. Personally, I would pass.
