It appears original albeit with possibly a replaced liner. I'll leave value to others.

Drawstring looks like a new repro.

Hi, the decal looks good as does the paint, the liner is an original one but I am not so keen on the match up of the liner pins paint to the shell. It may just be the pictures but I think that this has a replacement liner and pins, but at the right price it is a decent helmet. Leon.

So are you saying someone put a liner from another lid in it?
    How can we tell that?
    Just asking for educational purposes.
Also is the chinstrap original or a repro?
Lastly, what is the right price - what is it worth?
I am just looking for a ballpark figure.
Would you like better photos of anything so you can tell better?

Liner pins are complete mismatch with no external wear, chinstrap looks to be an original brown LW strap from a well known maker.

Agree with Leon on the pins. Looked at this last night on my cell phone but couldnt see too clearly. Now that I'm on a PC, the paint on the liner pins does not match the helmet paint (or maybe it's just my eyes). Shell is legit, but maybe someone touched up the pins with different paint when they replaced (potentially) the liner......

    So what is it worth?
    Ballpark please.

Oh BTW is it possibly a period replacement?

Unlikely to be a period replacement as it is of the earlier variety than expected, if you follow my chrono-logic Might be replaced post war, might be using up earlier leftover parts if it is a relatively early M40.

Value ballpark is $700 give or take, IMO, though I am beginning to dislike giving figures.

Thank you for the ball park value.
That is what I needed to determine whether to trade.
