I am interested in buying this helmet and would appreciate any opinions to its authenticity. The decal has a smudge of paint on it. It is advertised as a M35 (looks more like M40?) Thanks.

That eagle looks bad to me, I'm probaly wrong but I don't think it's beak is supposed to be open!!!!! It just looks wrong, has to be a repro

According to my reference book, the eagle decal looks like "First pattern, straight leg". What do you think?

I think the bird is a repro, the majority of the feathers on the wings should like arrow heads. On many of the repro first pattern decals those feathers are a continuous crooked line, as the feathers on this example appear to be from the poor photos. The tri color looks bad as well, and I don't like the paint or the liner either for that matter. I would avoid this one. Keep searching for a one look original, this one has too many red flags. I agree with Frank on this one, in fact id say that the helmet itself could be a repro judging by the very rough edges to the rim, bad fake all round

So it is an M35? I thought the vent holes above the decal closeup look like an M40. Still learnin'.
