Veilen Danke. On another issue, my grandfather (Karl Feix) was a ground crew member in the Luftwaffe (see my Avatar) and survived the war. Presently, I do not have any information of his regimen or post, but I know he spent a lot of time in Poland from his photos. Where would you suggest I start in researching him and his outfit?

If you could find some period maps of the Battle of Cherbourg, you might be able to find out exactly where the unit was during the battle and what U.S. division it surrendered to.

Hi Mo, without researching it further and off the top of my head, could be either 4th, 9th or 79th US Inf Div's?
