Luftwaffe M-42 S/D Combat Helmet

Not sure how much that would affect value. I've seen quite a few helmets that were waxed or varnished like this by the vets who brought them back (in wanting to protect the shell from rust).
Hopefully someone can nail down that answer for you but I wouldn't think it would affect it too much!

A thin coat of wax will not hurt it's value because if it is wax it can be removed without hurting the original finish.

About your statement earlier in the thread that we thought you were paying too much for other helmets you have shown? The answer is none have been as nice as this one as far as i can remember. This example is quite nice, complete and appears untouched.

I would buy it for that amount
