Luftwaffe m35 leather marking??

Hi guys, can anybody confirm for me what the large numbers (257) printed on the liner of my luft M35 are? I think they are just the leather batch number but if they are something more interesting it would be great to know! Thanks for your input

Maybe depot/inventory number? That would be my best guess

It matches your shell size 57 maybe its the 2nd lot of 57 size of that helmet type.

Has the national decal been touched up in any way? The black looks like it has had a going over with a marker pen.

Hi, the black part of the national decal has had some light damage which has caused a slight discolouration,the red part has however had one small touch-up about half the size of the age restriction badge on a DVD case (not by me i hasten to add!)
