Default Luftwaffe M35 Q66 double decal helmet with some history

This helmet was a souvineer picked up by a US GI in March of 1945, and I would guess by the date, that he picked it up in Germany somewhere.

I would love to know his unit, this would give an idea of where he served at the time, but thanks to his inscriptions inside the rim of the helmet,
I do have his name and particulars, which I think really adds to the history of the helmet. The GI's name and details that I have so far are:-

    Name: James H Williamson
    Serial Number: 42023061
    State: New York
    County: Cayuga
    Rank: Private, Army.

    Enlist Date: 08-06-1943 (6th of August 1943)
    Enlistment Place: Syracuse New York

    Nativity: New York
    Race: White
    Citizenship: Citizen
    Education: 3 Years High School

Hi Bob, that's a lovely clean example of a Luftwaffe M35, great inscription too that really adds to this piece giving it a history so often long lost. Leon.
