I am considering this one, so opinions would be most welcome on this Lufty lid please.

Markings present are as follows...

SE64 (Sachsische Emailleer und Stanzwerke, Lauter) and batch number is 22504.

Looks like a good shell from here Carl. Too bad it has been stripped
and denazified, but it is what it is and you should be able
to pick it up fairly cheap because of this.

Would be a good candidate for an original liner re-fit,
and possibly a replacement swaz ?

My advice would be to not spend money on this unless you can get it very cheap. Steve is correct, it's a good shell and decal but it's been messed with quite a bit. As an investement I think you will find it to be very hard to resell so I wouldn't pay any more than $75 for it. It's probably worth more than that but like I said, it should be very cheap and even at that price I would save my money towards one with a complete decal.

Thanks Mo, I appreciate your comments. The price hasn't been discussed as yet, but if I do choose to go for it, I shall keep in mind the figure you have suggested.

You are correct, it has great restoration potential. I am just a bit of a helmet purist is all. lol

I know some guys will cringe at the thought of messing with it further,
but as long as the future owners know exactly what has been done
to it, I believe it is ok to bring it back to it's former state.

We do it with cars and many other collectibles.........
