Here my new helmet.
M17 Austrian rural gendarmerie helmet.
Not in the best of condition still a rare helmet.
I be live this was a vet bring back because all original rivets were lost and replace by US medic badges from WWII .
Someone also had put the decals on it sometime ago.
The liner and chinstrap are good for this type of helmet.
If anyone known how to removed that glue from the decal please tell me.

Nice Chris, not a very common one at all. You could carefully use a cotton bud and acetone to remove the post war glue and decal remnants, you don't need me to tell you to be careful though I'm sure!

I tried that but it did not work.
The name in the liner ,is not a name but I think a location where the helmet was used.

Yes it was the one I was waiting on.
Not a ww1 helmet and not a ww2 helmet.
But one that I always wanted.
You see them more often with the shield gone with two decals for police.

this helmet I do not like much, it feels fake .....

I look in my folder "Stahlhelm faked"

maybe I made a mistake, but generally sthahlhemn ww1 are one of my specialties.

It is helmet VZ20 Czech, Austrian based headphones (there are also German), was used from 1920 to 1938.
This helmet could do: Czechoslovakia => Anschluss => Germany => USA.
