Hi Doug. It dosent appear to be decal over decal but the paint is quite textured around the decal. In looking at the picture, it looks as if there is a lighter white colour just above the leg and on the right wing. This is just shine and is not on the decal itself. Unfortunately as can be seen, the birds face is mostly gone. Thanks Again

What lotnr does that helmet have ?

I don't quite like the fat print of the straightleg adler , it's missing all the finer details you see on an original.

It does look like there's another decal peeking out from the one on there....Look at the white around the swastika....Here's my droop tail eagle for the sake of comparison. Snake leg variant though....not straight leg.
    Cheers!

Yes indeed Rob, Nice lid. The lot number for mine is 3762. I see what you mean about the swas. It does look like a decal over decal. I will have a closer look. The Decal has suffered damage to the body and face of the adler and thus has lost detail.

    Thanks Guys

Sorry Blondi , I'm convinced both decals are bad.

The eagle shares more traits with known fakes than with an original straightleg which has much more finer print and detail. The undamaged parts show this clearly.

I think this is the one :

Cheers for taking the time!! You are the first to say that it isnt right. I have studied it at length through a magnifying glass and compared it to many. If It isnt good, I think it's very close. Cheers Andy
