Great info..makes me wonder if this could be the same guy? I would like to thank all the members who have added to this thread.
Interesting info ssean..im sure there were lots of wenzels in the German army..would be cool to ID this to a SS soldier. The decal on the left side would be Heer though.

Some info from Perry..who had this helmet researched a little when he owned it. Most of the paperwork is in german .
7.2.45 Kp. Fhr. 5./Fled-Ers. Bt1. 708.VGD.Stellenbes. 15.11.1944 s. 13.11.1944
translate- 7 Feb 45 , Company Co, 5th company field replacement battalion, 708th Volksgrenadier division, roster as of 15 Nov 44.
If im reading the info right Herberts middle name was Lehrer..maybe that info will help you sean.

What source did you use to find this info on the soldier? I need to do similar research, but don't know where to start.

I didnt do any research..Perry Floyd did while he owned this cool lid. From the papers it looks as if the person who was able to research this was.
