I wish the smell could be bottled , I always smell my liners.
Well, if we are all going to get together here and confess our fetishes...

It probably could be. Take an old ratty liner, remove the leather from the band, then cut the leather into small pieces & place in a jar or large airtight bottle. Add a little water or moisture, seal & "there you go". In a few weeks I bet it would smell just right.

And what would call this new manly fragrance David?

Would be great on date night. Or while strolling the aisles at the SOS. You could even set up a table there!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I may be tempted to try it David , the old basement smell is so addictive. Although the smell of old minty leather is fantastic as well.
Anyone notice a hint of vanilla in those ? Original mint liners all smell alike I find. Less atticky more sweet.

Yes...minty clean have their own odor. Not musky. FJ helmets smell oily, they have a distinct smell one cannot mistake. Think it's the rubber/foam pads deteriorating that give off their smell.
