    Default M35 luftwaffe double decal

    Gentleman
Can anyone tell me about the liner in my M35 luft helmet.
It has a makers mark embossed into the leather and the strap has lines on each side, like a decoration line in the leather.
Helmet was acquired from a vet so nothing has been fooled with.
    thanks
    Mike

A very nice clean early issue M35.

Maker marked leather liners are sometimes seen in these.

    Cheers, Ade.

The embossed liners are only in the early issue M35's. Yours is right as rain - a great first pattern luft eagle, super tricolor (both decals have the crazing that I love to see), nice liner, and early brown chinstrap usually seen on m35 DD luft helmets (it appears from the photos to have been shortened, as a full length c/s has 13 holes). That is indeed a top shelf piece. Jim G.

    Very Nice DD luft!
as already stated Embossed liner stamps like that are found on early
single and liners, the alu liner should be a Braunschweig 1936 and on the inside left side there should only be the shell size on the outer band. Are you able to read the marks on the alu band (without bending it...)?
    regards Mario

Thanks guys for the complements on the helmet.
Just discovered the alum. liner maker(thanks to Mario, he told me where to look) it is marked size 66 and on the opposite side D.R.P. Schuberth Werke A-G Braunschweig 1935.
The stamp in the leather is same makers name but with a 1934 date. The strap is also marked on the very end 1934.
Did you all notice the 9 fingers instead of the normal 8 fingers.
This helmet was recently acquired direct from a vets wife in as brought back excellent+ condition. There were also some Luftwaffe badges and a Luft dagger 2nd model nickle fittings with it but no evidence if they were all from the same Luftwaffe owner or not.
Here is one of the badges.
    Thanks Again
    Michael

Very nice helmet, hard to find early one in that condition. And a good Flieger Abzeichen!
I don't think tha helmet and badge belonged to the same man
