M35 Luftwaffe Helmet Opinion

Article about: Hey guys, picked this up today. Paint seems good with the original code. Decal seems legit. Inside seems period. Any opinions or can anyone verify this one for me?

    Hi, it all appears ok to me, a nice m35 that had the National shield removed per 1940 regulations. The only concern I may have is that all of the liner pins appear loose, so the liner may have been out at some point. Take a look inside and see if the pins have a "wobble/ripple" look to them. If they do, then there's your answer. Leon.

    I have a clamp that I can use with wood slats to tighten them up. Would you advise? The pins seem loose but not bent in a ripple effect.

    From a novice, why were the National shields removed, what regulations?

    Hi William, I think the order specified that it was simply for the reasons of "camouflage".
    I would not bother to play around with the pins if this were my helmet. Leon.

    I would leave the pins as is. They often loosened due to use, and yours most certainly saw some use. It is a really nice example, real and untouched.
