Question M35 Luftwaffe, seen better days.

    Guys, what is happening here.....

It's obviously a Luft 35, SE66. My issue is with the 50/50 paint. The damage to the overpainted layer seems the same age as everything else, so is this a wartime applied layer? I'm leaning towards yes but why does it stop so abruptly? I don't think it's been partially stripped from the patina of it.

Also if you notice, it has 2 different sized vents, which I find pretty interesting and uncommon.

Thanks guys, not the prettiest girl at the dance but they all deserve a smile

Looks like an interesting one. Re issue M35 with early brass liner pins and a tri colour painted out. Good early parade finish underneath the re issue paint. Strange its creating that line to the front but looks like a nice salty example to me

Perhaps someone just decided to wax it, and then changed his or her mind halfway through?

You might be onto something there Mo. The previous owner waxed the helmet and brought out the difference between the old and reissue finish alot more.

You may be right there Mo, I'll examine it again with that in mind.
