Article about: A friend of mine has offered me an M35 and claims that it is a genuine SS helmet. I really need some help and advice on this helmet - but for personal reasons I do not wish to post photos of

    On first inspection it looks like its been used with various insignia on it so would guess, rather than re-issue... Some sort of prop. I do not believe it to be original SS.

    Odd that the 'ex-decal' outline has a circular shape. I suppose you really can't say
    'SS', as there is nothing there to back it up. National decals at some time were
    also removed from that side of Heer combat lids.

    I think that by associating the SS with a helmet like this to try and make a sale,
    is like, how they say: "Trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear".
    Heer helmet = $450............SS helmet = $1200.

    Without any real provenance or documentation the
    motivation is only the money, IMHO.

    Here's the give-away. I don't like it one bit, It says nothing to me, apart from the black over spray where, no doubt there has been a water slide decal at some point, and some ones tried to age it
