I thought the "ribbed" chinstraps were frowned upon and considered post war ( I know equipment straps and zelt ones are )

I believe the helmet and strap to be 100%. It is maker marked and dated 1939.

Dan I don't know. I am aware of where this helmet came from and have to believe that nothing has been altered. I know your wise and I respect your opinion, I do however believe this to be all original.

Haven't owned very many police lids from what I can see nice original M-35 DD police helmet I would be fine with it especially as scarce as Police helmets go. timothy

Nice re-issued Heer to Police with stacked decals Max, a configuration we see occasionally. Very cool and size 68 is a bonus.
