    Default M40 authenticity

Hi all this is my first post. Is any one able to help with this? I have had it a while along with many other lids but this is my only German helmet. Am curious to know about the paint job. I am pretty sure its a repaint but would like some help ID the helmet as a whole. Thanks.

I agree everything looks original, except the paint on the outside.
It is an EF M40 shell size 62.

There's too much glare on the paint and decal, try natural daylight shots and a macro shot of the decal

Gday and welcome, I cant tell much about the paint maybe take a couple outside in natural light. Its possibly a post war repaint judging from these photos

the rest of the helmet looks like an original EF M40 size62

Yep, the wrong shade of green for a wartime field repaint.
    Otherwise original.

Thanks for all the info, Much appreciated ^^^. I will take another photo in natural light soon. I am not sure if this is a stupid question but would it be worthwhile to remove the repaint? Or is that not such a great idea?? haha

Hello and welcome to the forum , that helmet has the potential to be a very nice one once you have stripped away the post war re-paint. A good looking M40 HEER with original liner and chinstrap. Leon.
