M40 camo or ....?

Hi,

I would like to hear your thoughts regarding this M40 helmet.

The helmet still has a lot of the factory Feldgrau paint.
There are several other green shades of paint and even traces of white(winter?), or fainted "Gelb nach Muster" colour.

Markings are not readable due to the green paint on the inside of the skirt - same paint on the linerband.
Pins are tight and seems original to the helmet, but no camo on the pins? ....I would say Feldgrau for the left and right pin, the pin in the back looks like another colour?

I think the helmet looks great.

Hi, well the green paint on the inner skirt does not look period to me, the outside is more convincing but for me it is just a very old over paint (post war) and not a period cammo. Leon.

Perhaps one of the helmets repainted by the Norwegians post-war, which has been stripped back?

I don't like the paint on the inner skirt myself.

In my eyes the outside of the helmet does not have the look of a helmet that has been stripped back.

I was offered this helmet earlier this year - I chose not to buy.

I would avoid it , probably a post war overpaint half cleaned up and the rivet heads look to clean.
