Dan the liner is fine, it's original as are the components. As for the camo this would not find its way onto my shelves despite the good reputation of the seller.

I just want to point out another thing in the thread title that might just push the bias towards "fake" quite easily. This would be he inclusion of the word "combat" (as in "combat helmet"), which to me is quite confusing as surely there's no rule to camo=worn in actual combat. Sure,by the looks of it this is definitely not something that I'd call "combat worn", but then again there's no prerequisite for an original camo ever having seen "action"/"combat". My 2 cents..
Definitely have seen this on before (or its twin), possibly on GHW. Didn't like the look of what appears to be "forced" edged and high point wear then and don't like it now.

John
I do not like it.
The camo is just not right for me.
The liner is period but I think it has been replace .
It is always hard with camo ,better in person.

If I dare ask, what "reputable" dealer is selling this? Thank you.
Here is a link to the helmet: H-279b Model 1940 Camouflage Helmet
For that price,I would buy a fallschirmjager helmet.

WOW this guy is top end pricey!! Just look at this decal on an M42 SS. The ET decal has been "overpainted" with white paint and he still wants $5,250 for it!! That,s just crazy,a bit like buying John Lennons autograph in pencil thats been over traced in pen to make it brighter,it's just no longer his autograph,as this is no longer an ET decal!! Anyway back to the original "cammo" helmet,i still do not like it,apart from those even slash marks to the shell, the chinstrap shows good wear yet the liner is immaculate, not one for me, Leon.
