Definitely M35, in which case the liner might be original to the lid

I'm thinking with the condition of the chinstrap, the liner might be original. Both have een some heavy use.

Agree , a definate M35 , liner has square chin posts, double skin liner ring, m35 vent grommets, all original, i believe the decal was removed and only remnants remain

i agree also that it,s a 35, as the 40 wouldnt have moulded that sharp, and yes the decal is well gone.
