    Hi Guys -

I have a few relic helmets, but I'd like to own a nicer expl. one day...

What do guys think about this one?

    single decal M40
    SE64
    lot # 10023

Missing chin-strap and the draw-string might be replaced - liner "I think" is ok and hopefully not "put-together" - has traces of tropical paint, which was removed during the war, hence the decal is in this shape.

    Any thoughts would be great!

(the price would be around 350-380 EU)

    Cheers,
    Fabe

I think tan paint was post war , liner is treated.

Nice enough for that money I suppose.

Beats me though, why someone would put a like-new
    drawstring in there.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

    THX for the replies everyone.

How can one tell if the tan paint is wartime or postwar?

Hi, the tan paint is certainly not DAK as it is the wrong shade, it's possibly "Mediterranean" tan but I like Frank also feel that it was a post war over paint that's been stripped back. Leon.

I think that's a good idea, Fabe......there's something not quite 'right' about this one, certainly at that price. I think it's best to save your cash, be patient and wait for better one which you'll be happy with........
