Ah ha, your right it is around the outer band, wonder what is holding on?

The shell and paint looks ok. Liner leather has been out, which explains the missing band. You might find it was a good shell with a scratched off decal ( or no decal) with just the outer band and leather gone. Seller added leather, decal and possibly chinstrap

The decal looks almost like it has been cut ou of something....look at the white around the swastikas black edges...

Shame about the liner, looks as though the previous owner was trying to squeez it in, and didnt quite know what he was doing!!!

I hadnt noticed that , but you are correct, which strengthens that this liner has been messed with, i would think the only thing that is holding the leather in is the pressure from the outer band against the sides of the helmet, which of course would not be adequate enough to wear properly, which means the outer band was removed as well at some time, again i think post war

If I were you I'd consider getting my trade items and money back. This helmet is just too messed with. Save some cash, maybe sell those trade items, and get an unmessed with lid. You will be much happier in the end.

I took my first look at this helmet on a computer and not my phone. The decal looks a lot like a sticker. Also, maybe it's the lighting, but the paint looks more green than Luftwaffe blue. I'd have a bone to pick with whoever sold this to you.

The inconsistent black borders and areas of white bleed through in areas of the eagle border are 2 red flags that jump out immediately to me.

You see the white stains around the decal, I would say that's a red flag, though as I said, I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks again for the help guys I think I am going to contact the seller and try to get something else. Btw I enjoy help and constructive criticism but not so much plain out criticism...
