No there was no story with the helmet.It was in a collection in the US than was in a collection in Norway.Now its back in the US in my collection.I liked it because it looks a bit salty and the liner is original to the helmet.There was a issued Camo paste type finish the germans applyed in the field.I believe they mixed it with water.I think this helmet was done it that finish.

Love those pesky little white spots - they seem to turn up all the time and I reckon are a good indicator of age and original finish!
