    These winter type helmets are a minefield as for finding originals. There are plenty of experts here that can help more than I.

    No expert but apart from the cross there's the odd looking wear on the rim. Looks more chipped than time worn. Now maybe that's a feature of the paint used. The liner rivets seem loose too.

    Yes, the wear to the rim I do not like.. The loosened rivets aren't necessarily a helmet-killer IMO..

    Here is what I am concerned about, note the pattern of 'ups and downs'..

    I agree - I have this helmet listed on another forum and that is the same concern for them - the forced wear on the rim -

    This wear pattern is repeated elsewhere on this helmet, I would steer away from this one,

    Seems your getting some mixed results? Anyhow, more photos will clear this up for good I imagine!

    I love these helmets, and I hate them, too. They can be so difficult to determine authenticity. I defer to Doug's experience. If he says stay away, I would take that advice.
