I have had this one forever, at least 20 years. I bought it from a crusty old timer in the area who had an immense, eclectic and amazing militaria collection, the late George Knopf. First, the liabilities. George fitted it with a repro chinstrap, which displays well, so I left it on. Next, the liner, which has what I believe to be blood rot, and which suggests that it did not end well for the original owner. George treated that as well. I can live with the liabilities because the helmet also has better than 95% paint, and a very crisp, 95%+ second pattern Luftwaffe Adler, which I have always liked even more because of the slight application imperfection - on the birds right (front) wing there is a lacquer bubble under the feathers, something I haven't seen in any other helmet. I posted 3 shots of the bird, it really is a fine example. Over all a keeper. Hope you like it. Jim G.
