M40 Something or Another

Article about: I have to agree early BGS that were made with WW2 features not a liner that fastened from the top like later WW2 shaped helmets I would vote definetly BGS I had one like it in the 60's from

    I vaguely remember these helmets from when I was hot and heavy into it. I don't even remember if they are German or not.

    But it has slipped me..

    I'm sure some of you fine folks will know right off.... Someone care to jog my memory.

    Isn't this a BGS helmet? Judging this by the fat vents...

    It's a finnish reissued M40/55 evident by the red dyed liner, rolled rim, and stamped vents.

    Post war shell. Somebody dropped what looks to be an OK liner in it....check the band.

    That's right! The BGS... now I remember... The funky rolled edges... I knew the liner and chinstrap were not right for that lid but looked to be original WWII.

    Thanks! sometimes you just gotta kick it to get the gyros going...

    L&S stamped shell m53 west german helmet. the linner looks ok to be ww2

    The visors on many of those W. German M40 helmets are a bit shorter than on WWII issue.
