Nice lid, but I would lose that odd liner cord.

Hi, well done, that M42 has real character. A superb example. Leon.

It's an EF 64. One can tell by the "flat top" to the dome that EF M42 helmets display. Not rounded like other makers. Nice pick-up

Looks like there may have been a repair to the liner as well, replaced tongue?
    Nice looking lid.

Liner has not been repaired. It is a late war liner made out of two or more separate pieces that appear to be laminated together. You can see in the top arrow from Dan's photo that it is not stitched but laminated.

Refer to Kens book page 428 for details (for large liners 61cm or late war measures)

I like the chin strap. Hard to see the photos but is it a repair?

I would take the chinstrap off the brim. It's already hanging by a thread.

    Nice helmet!

    Michael

You and me both. We have to remember TOO much in this hobby. Thank goodness for reference books.

I moment I saw your photo I was like the kid in class FINALLY knowing the answer and wanting so bad to be the first to respond and beat the class experts to the answer LoL
