M42 Hello Forum,

I need your opinions please about this late war M42 helmet
M42 ckl66 LotNr. 4901
In addition I would also like to ask a few questions:
From what date pig skin liner were installed in the M42?
Who is the liner manufacturer?
Size is Gr.59
Chin strap is stamped with 0/0552/0024 who is the manufacturer?

Nice lid. That lot number relates to late 1944 production.

The chin strap I can't say but the pigskin liner would be correct and looks good.

Hi , a nice M42 , the liner manufacturers "stamp" will be on the liner band. Unfortunately it will be hard up against the steel shell so you are unlikely to be able to see it. Please do not bend the band or play with the pins looking for it, that would de-value you helmet!!!! Leon.
